I first heard about Naming a star in February when my friend Sam received his own star from his girlfriend for his birthday, I thought it was an amazing gift because I can remember so many nights when Sam and I would go for a walk in the evening to stargaze. Ever since then I had always wanted to have my own star, so when the opportunity arrived I grabbed it with both hands!
I named my star after my relationship with my boyfriend Reece because stars usually burn for a few million years meaning that our love and relationship will last our entire lifetime.
I brought my star from Star Name Registry who are the best online star registry company. Naming a star through them means that your star is unique you to, no-one can own the same star as you. I was surprised at how cheap it is name your own star; prices start at as little as £14.99 for a standard star or as much as the Binary Star for £69.99.

I will always remember the first time I got to look through a telescope, I must of been around 5-6, my dad’s friend had a super high tech telescope and he brought it round our house one evening when it was really clear. I saw Saturn, the moon and stars in the universe. It was honestly one of the most amazing things I have ever seen and I will never forget it. I find conspiracy theories about life on other planets really fascinating and knowing that I own a star in the universe where their could be life somewhere feels pretty cool!
One of my lifetime goals is to road trip somewhere quiet, camp outside overnight and lie down in front of the stars. Hopefully Reece and I will one day do this, maybe we can travel down to the seaside and camp outside during the summer and fall asleep under our star. Hint Hint Reece if you are reading this!
