This author knows how to write a story to keep you reading!
I thought initially that this story might disappoint as I'd say the first quarter of the book didn't really keep my intrigue. As weird as it sounds I found the character and scene building too fast and too slow all at the same time! I wish the author had built more of a back story around Danny and Laurel to give us more of an insight into their relationship before the baby and felt she spent too much time on Danny's. This was largely due to me not reading book one! So before reading this one I definitely recommend picking up book one!
However, it was refreshing to read a story like this from the man's perspective for a change and for the main character not to be a bit of a tool was a nice change.

From the point Danny receives the surprise from Laurel this book really took off and although you could see where it was ultimately heading it didn't detract from the quality of the writing and after initially being able to put this book down easily I soon found that I had to read just one more page. I love that feeling and for me is the sign of a great writer!
Christine Duval has gained a new fan in me after reading this book and I cannot wait to read more by her.
