From 12 April to Sunday 28 May Sir John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists will be celebrating the life and work of Monteverdi with an international cast of singers in three landmark performances of the composer’s three surviving operas.
The celebrations will kick off at Colston Hall, Bristol on 12 April with a performance of Il ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria, continue with L’incoronazione di Poppea on 8 May and finish with his most famous work, L’Orfeo on 28 May.

2017 marks the 450th anniversary of Claudio Monteverdi.
