Moors Valley Railway is the South’s longest, fully signalled narrow gauge steam railway. The 7 ¼” gauge railway provides a picturesque journey of just over a mile through Moors Valley Country Park. The train travels along the banks of the Moors Lake, before winding around a double loop of the play areas with tunnels, tight curves and inclines! There are currently seventeen steam and two diesel locomotives in use on the railway – many of them built here in the workshop at Moors Valley Railway.
Passengers can either travel on a single or a return journey from both of our stations – Kingsmere and Lakeside. Kingsmere Station boasts a railway shop, selling model railway items, souvenirs and a selection of the Thomas & Friends range! As well as a shop, Kingsmere also offers refreshments from the station buffet, including locally produced New Forest Ice Cream, hot and cold drinks, rolls and snacks. Lakeside Station is located within a large picnic area next to two play areas and also sells New Forest Ice Cream, cold drinks and snacks.
