After serving the town of Bishop Auckland for countless generations however, it is fair to state that the grounds were in need of some reinvention. Cue The Auckland Project. Marking another important inflection point in the castle’s history, the project aims to bring more visitors to the attraction so they can soak up the site’s rich cultural history first-hand.
