This is the directorial debut of renowned playwright and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing), which granted him multiple award nominations this year including Best Adapted Screenplay at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTA and Writers Guild of America. Jessica Chastain was also nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama at this year’s Golden Globes for her performance as Molly Bloom.
