Win 1 of 4 The Portrait by Antoine Laurain Complete France

Paris-born author Antoine Laurain has enjoyed international recognition for his books The President’s Hat and French Rhapsody. He wrote his first novel, The Portrait, which is being published for the first time in English, while he was working as an assistant for an antiques dealer. It therefore comes as no surprise that the story of his central character takes place in the same milieu of antiques-collection that he knew well.
Pierre-François Chaumont adores collecting antiques, much to his wife’s displeasure. One day, while strolling around Drouot auction house in Paris, he stumbles upon an 18th-century portrait of a stranger who, he believes, looks just like him. He buys
the painting, but none of his friends or family sees any resemblance.
